Timex Men’s Expedition Adventure Tech Digital Compass Watch #T42761
This was a gift for my son. He’s a Boy Scout and liked a earlier version of a Timex compass watch he had, but the watch had worn out. He’s older now and appreciated the look of this watch, which is nicer than the old watch. He likes the display and the way the compass works. The indiglo is nice and easy to read.

I have owned several Timex watches over the years with the last 2 being Expeditions. When I began researching for another watch with a compass I wanted one with an actually working compass & not just a digital one that you had to press a button everytime you wanted a reading. I checked on several different makes & they ranged in price from $99 to over $250. I found this Timex with a floating digital compass and for only $45. It also has the rotating bezel, another feature I wanted. Having owned Timex watches before with the only problems I ever had was the watchbands wearing out & the battery finally running down, I new it would be a great product. You can’t beat a Timex for quality and affordability. This is my first purchase on Amazon and I was very pleased with how it went.

it has many useful functions especially the compass. I need it to take part in company’s cup challenge. But the I thinkd the leather wrist belt is not suitable for a ourdoor watch.

Mine is a couple of months old and the wristband is falling apart. No big deal except that the tiny water bubble level (above the N in the photo) is necessary for the compass to function properly, and since the wrist band cups the water level thing, you can only use that particular wristband. So if you want a watch that has a great digital compass to wear a few times a year to go hiking, great watch. If you want a watch to wear everyday, don’t get it. In any case, you’ll hate the wristband… Promise.

I bought this watch mostly because of its many excellent non-compass features, but since I spend a lot of time participating in outdoor activities, I knew the compass would come in handy too. (And it has on several occasions).
Here are all of its modes:
* Watch
* Compass (includes declination adjustment setting)
* Chronograph with lap support
* Timer (with option to auto-repeat)
* Hydration alarm (goes off at repeatedly at the interval you specify to remind you to drink water while exercising or whatnot)
* Occasion alarm (reminds you of one-time and reoccurring dates and what’s special about it. It’s pre-configured with things like birthdays, bills, events, and many other things like that)
* Not just one or 2, but 3 separate regular alarms. This was a big deal for me, and I use all 3 regularly.
* Support for 3 time zones.
I find the button layout to be very straightforward, easy to remember, and consistent. I can’t think of any features they could add to make this a better watch. It also feels comfortable, well-made, and sturdy, and the bezel does an excellent job of protecting the lens from scratches.
However I do have a couple minor complaints:
* The bezel rotates, and I’m not sure how that could be useful. This only bothers me because now and then I bump the watch into something and find the bezel to be rotated. For whatever reason, I like the N to always be right at the top so I find myself straightening it every couple days.
* As far as I know, you can’t replace the band with a different style because of the bubble level at the top. From reading other users’ reviews it looks like you can get inexpensive replacements from Timex.
Like I said, they’re pretty minor complaints. Overall, I’m extremely happy with this watch and I would say it’s well worth the money, even though I paid significantly more than Amazon is charging for it. This watch is easily the most useful watch I’ve ever had, and I would recommend it to anyone.
