I read excellent reviews on the product, so I decided these were the ones to get. However, when a couple weeks passed after I placed my order for 3 pairs and I still hadn’t received anything, I grew a little frustrated. I also received an automatic email stating that one of the colors I had ordered was canceled and no explanation why.
I emailed the company and asked when to expect the rest of my order. They assured me that it would arrive soon. Two more weeks and no product. I fired off an email, tactfully stating how I wanted the situation rectified. I had worked retail, customer service, and tech support and was quite used to going the extra mile for customers when the unexpected happened. This was the response I received which seemed to drip with attitude. The woman did not offer assistance for items that were apparently lost in the mail, and my check card was not credited for the product which I never received.
I will not be doing business with American Apparel again.

In regards to your canceled item, we could not get this in a timely fashion so canceled this as we did not want you to wait any longer and we wanted to ship the rest to you…which we did.
We cannot reorder for you as we do not have your credit card information on file and cannot ship this overnight at no charge.

I went to American Apparel store first to check the leggings out. The price was ridiculous $26. They look very baggy in the thigh area and very small at the ankles (that was size S, I checked size M to compare and they were huge). The look on the hanger put me off, I didn`t want to try them on, plus price was outrageous. I wanted the asphalt color and I`m happy I didn’t buy them online, they more blueish than graphite. Close to this store was Target and I got 2 pair of Xhilaration leggings for $7, size M (I’m 5’6, 130 lbs). Fit perfect, under the belly button and good price. I got caprice leggings from Xhilaration and they are good quality, you can`t see through and they don’t stretch out overtime. 100% I recommend Xhilaration over American Apparel, which look really cheap.

Very comfortable and nice leggings. But the very first time I wore them was when we went to an amusement park. There I went into some water rides, thinking they’ll dry soon enough as they are thin and it was hot, and they got bleached by the chlorine in the water. Also, the bleaching is very uneven so now I can only wear them under other clothes. Maybe I should have known better, or maybe there should have been some warning about it, because I have worn other leggings in water rides, and this had never happened before.

These are comfortable mid-heavy weight leggings with enough spandex to fit well and enough cotton to breathe well. Nice wide waist band makes these easy to wear all day.

Regardless if it’s political or religious views, race, size, or orientation- everyone deserves to be and become who they are. As long as they’re not harming anybody, why not?
