It is sturdy enough for multiple persons to rest comfortably, allowing them to sleep without falling in a "valley" or slipping off when near the edge due to it's multiple channel design. Another nice feature not readily known or stated is that the bed has a channel all the way around between the two sections that allow you to actually tuck in a sheet, with a larger gap at the corners. A very nice feature that should be noted. As with any air mattress, fill it until it is soft, not firm and let it sit for an hour before blowing it up to the desired firmness. This will allow the plastic to warm up and will prevent cracks and leaks. Second, DON'T OVER FILL the mattress, and thirdly, if you jump up and down on ANY air mattress like a trampoline, expect air leakage.
